Inside Citrus Strike: Electrolytes, Sugar and the Label

Citrus Strike is ReForge's natural lemon-lime electrolyte drink mix. We want you to be able to read the formula, understand our choices and separate an ingredient explanation from a claim about what a finished product has proved.

What is in one stick?

Each serving is one 10 g stick, and each box contains 20 sticks. The amounts below are a formula summary; the Supplement Facts panel on your carton is the complete label.

Nutrient Amount per stick
Sodium 900 mg
Potassium 200 mg
Magnesium 60 mg
Total sugars 2 g
Vitamin B12 8 mcg

Why does Citrus Strike contain 2 g of sugar?

Our formula includes dextrose monohydrate, a form of glucose. We chose to include glucose while keeping total sugar at 2 g per stick, with stevia providing additional sweetness.

There is an established physiological reason to discuss glucose alongside sodium: the small intestine has a transporter called SGLT1 that carries glucose and sodium into intestinal cells together, and the review describes this transport in relation to water absorption. That is a mechanism of the body, not a clinical result for ReForge. Read Hermann Koepsell's review, Glucose transporters in the small intestine in health and disease.

The review also discusses sodium uptake through other pathways, including NHE3 and sodium-amino-acid transport, so glucose is not the only route involved in intestinal sodium absorption. See the same physiology review.

What this explanation does not establish

The cited review does not test ReForge or establish that 2 g of sugar is the optimal amount for our drink at its recommended dilutions. It does not establish that Citrus Strike hydrates faster than water, works better than sugar-free products, or is a medical oral rehydration solution. Review the research and its actual scope.

Two grams is our formulation decision, not a scientifically established minimum that every hydration product needs. We would rather be precise about that distinction than turn ingredient physiology into a bigger promise.

Read the carton for the complete Supplement Facts, directions and warnings before use. If you have questions about whether the formula fits your individual needs, take the label to an appropriate healthcare professional rather than relying on a website to make that decision for you.

From the label to your bottle

Our Citrus Strike mixing guide explains one stick in 16, 24 or 32 fl oz of water. If your routine includes training, long shifts or work outdoors, our planning guide explains the limits of what a drink can replace.
